A GUIDE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM
How do photo-personalized storybooks work?
A photo-personalized storybook uses a reference photo to shape an illustrated character, so familiar visual details belong in the pictures as well as the story. My Little Fable is developing this experience; the public website currently offers prepared samples.
Photo personalization and name personalization are different.
Name personalization changes words such as the hero’s name in a prepared story. Photo personalization also aims to make the illustrated hero recognizable: a child’s hair and familiar features, or a toy’s shape, colours and well-loved markings.
The sample books on this website use prepared artwork. Entering a name changes the title and text in your browser; it does not change the illustrated face or generate a new book. The fictional Alex and Pip demonstration shows the intended photo-to-character direction.
A child, a favourite stuffy, or both can be the hero.
A child-only story needs a child reference, a stuffy-only story needs a toy reference, and a shared story uses one of each. Neither photo is required for the other option. Parents can choose the cast that fits the story they want to tell.
The planned journey: references, characters, story, book.
The creation experience is being built around choosing the heroes and their names, selecting an existing adventure or describing an original idea, and reviewing illustrated character references before the rest of the story continues.
Those approved character references are intended to guide the cover and scenes throughout the book. Recognizable characters across different scenes are a central goal, but live generation quality and consistency are still being tested. A new name alone cannot demonstrate that result.
- Choose only the child, toy, or combined cast you want.
- Use an existing adventure or begin with an original idea.
- Review the illustrated characters before continuing.
- Open the completed digital book from the separate signed-in product when that service launches.
What makes a useful reference photo?
For the planned experience, choose a clear view of the character you want to recognize. For a toy, show its whole shape and important markings; for a child, use a well-lit view with the face unobstructed. Avoid adding people or objects that are not intended to be part of the cast.
The public website does not accept family-photo uploads. Do not send reference photos through a contact message. The photo service’s access, retention and deletion details will be published before customer photo creation opens.
What can families try today?
Read the free illustrated samples, try a first name—or both names in a shared adventure—and save a prepared preview to the bookshelf in this browser. New photo-based book generation, orders and cross-device customer accounts are not available on the public site.
Digital personalized books are the planned first release. Printed keepsakes are planned after digital launch. Pricing and customer access details have not been announced.
